Six months??

Already?? Rubea has been with us for 6 months! My how she has changed. She was so frail the first days that we had her. She couldn't hold her head up, roll over, babble, lay on her tummy, etc. She didn't move at all in her sleep, either. Now she is sitting up, playing with toys, can move (a small distance)in her wheelchair, loves to *jump* on the trampoline, loves to play on her tummy, and trying to *scoot* on the floor, talks constantly, points to things she sees or wants. And...she has HAIR! It is below her ears now. She is a love bug and wants to be held, entertained, up and going. She is about the same size as all her clothes still fit. She looks much healthier. I remember the moment I first laid eyes on her in China. My eyes welled with tears as I realized just how delayed she was. I looked over at the other mom traveling with us and she looked at me and said *it will be ok* I'm am ever grateful that they were there with us in Nanchang! She was right, everything IS ok and Rubea is a gem!! We just couldn't imagine our lives without her! Thank you Shuey's for your constant encouragement, support and friendship!!I can't wait to see how Rubea progresses in the next 6 months. So, stay tuned!

Wow! I am glad that I found your blog through another one. We also have a large family- 10 kiddos- 4 of them adopted. We are in the process of adopting a little boy through Reece's Rainbow. He is considered to have special needs (although he is perfect to us) and I have one daughter with FAS. I look forward to reading more of your blog.

Ack! You made this hard, bitter old woman cry!

I'll never forget when Cat was losing it in Nanchang and you said, "You know she can't help it, right?" That little phrase has helped me refocus MANY times over the last 6 months.

She is a beauty. Her smile still melts me. Happy anniversary, Miss Rubea!

Wow, I too can see from the photos that she has just blossomed with you all! As we told you in China, you are an inspiration to us and probably to everyone else as well. All your kids are truly blessed and God has put them in your hands for a reason. Keep doing God's work! You are still my hero :)
