We spent the last 2 days at a local hospital with Rubea having x-rays, MRI's, CT scans, Echo, EKG, blood work, Dr. appointments, etc. She is being evaluated for their Titanium rib program!! One of the Docs that invented the devices and procedure is on the teams of docs here. They will attach the titanium ribs to her ribs to help straighten her spine and allow for her to continue to grow. Our 7 year old daughter, Kaylea, went through the evaluations in February, but has to gain more weight before they can help her. Rubea will need surgery to release her tethered cord before they can place her ribs. So, we wait. For both. Which means they will look at trying to do the surgery on both girls at the same time. This would be helpful since the stay in the hospital after the surgery is typically 7-10 days.
If your child has had this surgery, we'd love to hear from you!!!

what an awesome opportunity for rubea, that is so great!
Hi! I am enjoying your blog, also. Wow! 8 kids with 1 on the way... do you have any idea when you will travel? How much longer do you think you will need to wait for the girls' surgeries? I will definitely be praying for you guys in all of this! Debra
Amazing, I have never heard of that before. I hope that the girls will be able to go in together and that it will be successful for them. Maybe they could share a room for moral support and to make things easier for you.
